Exhibition Text
Dismissal is an illustration that conveys the way children easily neglect the authentic stories of their culture and family history told by their parents without acknowledging the significance of its values. It is fundamentally inspired by Norman Rockwell’s Facts of Life and Hispanic culture, specifically the Aztec era and the pachuco style that was developed in 1940’s Los Angeles by Mexican Americans.
